Mental Health First Aid Training

United Way of Pickaway County, Pickaway County Developmental Disabilities, and Pickaway Addiction Action Coalition has collaborated with Mental Health America of Ohio to offer a FREE Mental Health First Aid course designed to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders for adults and youth. 

Class materials have been paid through generous funding from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The eight (8) hour training course, which can be renewed every three years, teaches participants:        

  • Common signs and symptoms of mental illnesses may include anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder  
  • Common signs and symptoms of substance use
  • How to interact with a person in crisis
  • How to connect a person with help

The following training dates have been scheduled:

Wednesday, April 14, 2021, for Youth Mental Health First Aid Training, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
