Below is some important information for you regarding Westfall Elementary School.
Emergency Medical and Registration Forms
Attention All Parents: Please complete your student's Final Forms. This link can be found on Westfall Local Schools' website under Parent Resources (http://westfall-oh.finalforms.com). Please ensure Final Forms are complete so students can receive their Chromebook on the first day of school.
School Day Structure
School Hours: 9:00 am to 3:30 pm | Office Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Our schools will open the doors at 8:45 am - please do not drop students off (especially in the winter months) before this time as the doors cannot be opened until that time. If your student arrives after 9:00 am, your student will be marked tardy. Car riders are dismissed at 3:15 pm, and bus riders are dismissed at 3:25 pm.
Student Code of Conduct
All students will receive an electronic copy of the student handbook through Final Forms. All rules, including attendance, dress code, and discipline procedures, are included.
Attendance
All absences must be reported to the office by calling 740-986-4008. If you do not reach the office personnel, please leave a message with your child's name and the reason for the absence.
Transportation
If you have questions or special requests for transportation, you MUST contact our transportation department director, Becky Shaw, in advance.
Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Elementary school parents who drop off and pick up their students on a daily basis will use the lane that drives behind the back of the building. Please DO NOT use the bus parking lots for student drop-off or pick-up.
Medication
Please contact the school nurse for proper documentation if your child has been prescribed medication that must be administered during school hours. If your child requires over-the-counter medication, it can be administered at school if necessary; however, it must be in the original container, have the student's name marked on the container, and be accompanied by a note outlining administration instructions. A parent or guardian must drop all medicines (prescribed or over-the-counter) off to the school nurse.
First Day of School
Please note that Wednesday, August 16, 2023, will be the first day back to school for PRESCHOOL and GRADES 1 - 5. Kindergarten will have a staggered start with Students Last Names starting A-K having their first day on Thursday, August 17, 2023, and Students Last Names starting L-Z having their first day on Friday, August 18, 2023.
Open House
There will be an Open House event for students on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Students can tour the building, meet their teachers, drop off supplies, and ask questions. Bus routes will be posted as well.
Class Lists
Class lists have been mailed home to students, indicating their teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. If your home did not receive a letter in the mail, please visit our Open House to learn your student's class assignment.
