What is Mustang PRIDE?
Mustang PRIDE stands for Prepared, Respectful Individuals Determined to Excel!
Mustang PRIDE is part of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). It’s more than a program—it’s a commitment to building a safe, supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.
According to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, PBIS is a research-based framework that helps schools use positive, evidence-based strategies to improve academic, social, and behavioral outcomes for all students.
At WMS, we set clear behavior expectations for students in every area of the school—classrooms, hallways and locker bays, the cafeteria, gym, restrooms, and even on the bus. These expectations are posted throughout the building and regularly reviewed with students.
To recognize positive choices, each student receives a punch card. When students earn enough punches, they’re entered into a drawing for prizes! Plus, each quarter, students who consistently follow expectations can participate in an Incentive Day with fun activities like inflatables, arts & crafts, and games.
As we continue building Mustang PRIDE, we encourage all Mustangs to keep the momentum going—celebrate positive behaviors, support one another, and help make our middle school the best it can be!
