The COSI Roadshow is coming to Westfall Middle School for our seventh-grade class!
This is more than just a field trip—it's a 2-hour, hands-on workforce development program designed to connect our students with future career paths right here in Pickaway County and the surrounding areas.
What Students Will Experience:
COSIfied Kick-off: The event begins with an electrifying science demonstration chosen to spark curiosity and excitement.
Meet Local Leaders: Students will engage directly with professionals from local businesses. These tables are staffed by people actively working in the job/company, ready to share their career journeys and offer personalized advice.
Hands-On Skill Building: Each station will feature a fun, practical activity that highlights the critical soft/success skills businesses are actively seeking.
Exploring the Future: Students will use VR headsets to try out different careers and receive follow-up virtual job coaching powered by AI.
Reflection & Sharing: The program concludes with a structured reflection activity where students, with the help of a teacher or job coach, will summarize their takeaways.
COSI organizes the participating businesses and represents a broad spectrum of high-demand fields, including STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), and encompasses careers requiring 4-year degrees, 2-year degrees, and various trades.
